TO CONDUCT ARCHEOLOGICAL OR SOCIO-CULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGY RESEARCH


Authorization should be obtained from INAC (Instituto Nacional de Cultura).

If your research requires study  and collection of flora or fauna in the area selected, Please check with the Visitor Services Office (VSO) for additional permits, i.e. ANAM.

The submission of your permit application does not imply that your project will be approved.

Documents required for permit: Protocol of the research
The Protocol of research should be sent in Spanish.  Be explicit about any possible environmental impact.  Write it in a Report format and must include the following required information:

  1. Title of research project
  2. General objective
  3. Duration of the project
  4. Justification (fully describe the kind of work you are going to carry out)
  5. Methodology
  6. Place or area where the study will take place
  7. Describe area and send a map attached to this application.
  8. Itinerary/working schedule – dates and sites to be visited (chronology). Possible dates by month and year.
  9. Samples to collect - scientific and common names (if applicable).
  10. Copy of the questionnaire to be used (if applicable).
  11. Describe any field marks and equipment that will be placed in the field and specify when they will be situated and removed (if applicable).
  12. Include a copy of the written agreement and authorization to do the research in the area selected by corresponding authorities (Kunas, Nobe Bugle, landlord, etc.).
  13. Publication (scheduled plans).
  14. Principal Investigator’s name.
  15. Research assistant(s) name(s).
  16. Nationality(ies).
  17. Attach copy of passport(s) of each participant.
  18. STRI sponsor/advisor.
  19. Resume / of each participant
  20. One passport size photo
  21. Any other information you may consider relevant to the project.

Any missing information may delay process. All above are guidelines. Don't write beside them.
