Gigante Peninsula

Aside from our housing area on Barro Colorado Island (BCI). Researchers wanting to do “manipulative” field work can stay in Gigante. In this Peninsula we can host up to 12 persons. There are very modest housing conditions, but a new kitchen and bathrooms are available. Interested persons need to buy and prepare their own meals. There are solar panels that supply limited electricity. This is an area for field research.

It is a secondary forest and the installations don’t include with any equipment. Use of equipment can be organized with BCI. If you would like to work here you need to rent a boat from us. You will also need to get a boat drivers license from the Panama Canal Authority.

You need to deposit $15.00 to the following ACP account: 28-280101-400999 (in advance in the Citibank in Panama). Appointments for the boat test are done by our secretary.
