Current research on calyptraeids: One of my research lines is the study of physical and biological factors that are shaping the evolution of developmental mode and reproductive strategy in marine invertebrates using a molecular and physiological approach. Over the last years I have been using hypervariable genetic markers to run paternity analyses in order to identify pre and post copulatory factors driving the time of sex change in species from the calyptraeid group. I am also interested in intracapsular sibling competition and cannibalism within the framework of kin selection theory.
