Research focus:  Examine form, function and scaling of a fundamental process, i.e., food acquisition, during key ontogenetic periods (post metamorphosis) and growth;  Investigate the functional significance and efficiency of alternative feeding mechanisms; Link functional morphology and ontogenetic changes in feeding mode to ecological  performance.

Other Research interests: Physiological ecology of marine invertebrates, shellfish biology, aquaculture, toxic algae
Current research is focused on the impacts of harmful algal species on shellfish and aquaculture
