Tambor y mejorana en la música para violín de Roque Cordero (Drum and mejorana in Roque Cordero's violin music - talk in Spanish)

Roque Cordero is the most recognized Panamanian composer worldwide. During his lifetime, he stated that his goal was to write music that was undeniably Panamanian, but also undeniably new. How does Roque Cordero weave the Panama he knew and loved into his work? Where do the Panamanian musical ideas that inform his music come from? We will learn how Cordero incorporated his Panama into the context of a musical language at once intimate and universal.
